S03/E04 Heiko Lietz, Schwerin:
In the Eastern German city of Schwerin, Heiko Lietz, former GDR civil rights activist and co-founder of the "Neues Forum" party, remembers the peaceful demonstrations for freedom in autumn 1989, where he held important speeches. He also talks about Round Tables, still using them today for integrative social projects. He talks about experiences and special points in his life, disappointments with our actual society, but also about hope and still important wishes.

Political comedian Simone Solga shows Jörg Buschka around Leipzig, where she grew up. Both travel back to her world of theatre plays as well as to the places of the first demonstrations for freedom that started the Peaceful Revolution in 1989.

Entertainer Inka Bause shows Jörg the places that marked her carreer, were important in her private life and during her student times in the heart of Berlin. She talks as well about pros and cons of being already popular in those times of a socialistic dictatorship as how the German Reunification had influenced her life and career.

Emmy’s life is characterized by boredom and routine. A well-intentioned encouragement from Christin leads to an adventure, but far from what they hoped for. Helmut is in the midst of a personal crisis. His wife has thrown him out of their mutual home and Helmut has to move in with his grandmother. Since he is certain that only refugees can be the reason for his personal failure, Helmut gathers a group of vigilantes to fight back against what they think are foreign invaders taking over their country. Instead of regaining control over his personal life, Helmut now has a neonazi as bff who’s swamping him with relationship advice, which Helmut, prone as he is, cannot withstand. As the vigilantes try to force Helmuts ex to marry him in a suburbian standoff, Helmut is confronted with the fact that his life has jumped the rails and he has become a Nazi. But does he want to be one, and if not, will he be able to fight back?

Sara has it all: a well-paid job, wonderful friends and a stylish apartment that she shares with her long-term girlfriend. Somehow she still feels there is something missing and not even the plans to start a family keep her mind from wandering to secret poetry writing and a not-so-secret affair.

It’s hard to hide in a small community. When she manages to wreck her whole existence in a single day, Sara feels she has to escape from the rumors and from her own failure. With a suitcase full of emotional baggage she moves to a new country, hoping that the magic of Berlin will help her figure out what she wants.

Ten-year-old Alex gets his bike stolen by the well-known bully Georg.
